I recently have done the training required for basic leader course. It was less than usful and very time consuming for little educational benefit.

The bue book is also cumbersome and could be done better. Was wondering if people had any suggestion that could make the training and Blue Book better.

1 Suggestion I have from the cub training point of view is I spent more time pretending to be a cub than learning to be a leader. I would suggest that the whole Scheduling section from yearly to term to actual nights could be handled differently and take maybe 2 days out of the training. Visiting other cub group and trainers visiting pack with new leaders to review their programs and other areas may be a better use of time.

Hi
I have just finished leadership 3, and now starting Skills 1 and leadership 2, I find the gray work book hard as I am not an educated person, I am more of a hands on person.

I was ask by District office if I would be an none uniformed member, and help the group leader with the cubs, after two month the group leader ask me to be an adult leader as the cubs like me, and we get on well together.

The group leader is a school teacher and teaches kid with special needs, so has to training to work with young kids, but the other leaders have not had the training.

I will never be the YPCSL as I am happy just being an YPACL. But we need training to work with young kids.

I think our system in ACT is different to yours. But I would like to see more acceptance of skills than class room work.
